If printing money is the path to prosperity, as is so often advocated by mainstream economists, why is counterfeiting illegal? The benefits of the new money would be far more widely dispersed in society than the current method which only enriches the banks and other privileged first receivers. It would much more closely resemble the hypothetical helicopter drops that earned Ben Bernanke his old nickname.
While we’re at it, if some level of minimum wage is better than no minimum wage why not set $500 per hour as the minimum?
How can anyone seriously promote ideas that, even if they were completely valid, require the reading of chicken entrails to know how to proceed? The answers to the previous questions are easy, but that is a mystery I will never understand.
